Indoor Air Quality

Indoor Air pollution is one of the major contributors to the global burden of diseases. Indoor air quality not only impacts the health and well-being of the occupants but also influence their satisfaction and productivity having more economic implications. Healthy indoor air provides opportunity to ensure well-being of the occupants and maximize the productivity.

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ) is a rather complex term which is determined by several features of a building such as the design aspects, the material use and the technical performance. B4I provides consulting services for the assessment and management of IAQ by quantitative and qualitative analysis based on ASHRAE 62 and AS 1668.

The quantitative assessment includes measurements of IAQ parameters including:

  • Indoor pollutants, e.g. Particulate matter, Carbon dioxide, VOC, Formaldehyde,
  • Ventilation rate
  • Building microbiology
  • Air temperature and humidity
  • Thermal Comfort

The qualitative assessment involves deployment of post occupancy evaluations or indoor environmental quality surveys to obtain occupant feedback.
